Magnificent biking in Southwest Friesland

Our province, Súdwest-Fryslân, is one of the most beautiful biking, walking, and boating/sailing regions in the Netherlands. Hotel Workum is an ideal starting point for biking and walking tours, it is located on the Elfsteden biking route, at an intersection of numerous biking and walking routes. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes, the gorgeous waterways filled with bridges and ferries, the historic villages, or the Eleven cities of the ‘Elfsteden.’


Hotel Workum is centrally located. Both the Elfsteden city of Workum, and the Ijsselmeer beach are within walking distance. There is private parking for our guests.

Rent a bike

Hotel Workum has bike rentals available for you to discover the beautiful surroundings. You can choose to rent a regular bike or an electric E-bike. Of course, we can arrange lunch to go from the Bûtenpleats.

  • Regular bike: € 10.00 per day
  • E-Bike: € 25.00 per day (Including panniers)

Rent a traditional dutch sloop

Enjoy the Ijsselmeer and Hotel Workum from the water. Boats can be moored at one our docks, after which you can continue sailing with a well-filled lunch box. Hotel Workum also has number sloops available to rent so that you can explore the Frisian waters for yourself. A number of sloops are usually moored in front of Hotel Workum. Would you like even more enjoyment on board? Then bring one of our lunch or cocktail boxes with you on your next boating trip. 


We collaborate with 2 parties for the rental of the sloops. 

  • Rental of the regular sloops is done via sloep@rent.nl
  • Rental of the luxury sloops is done via: Dehaanwatersport.nl

You can leave from the hotel with the basic sloop.
